Only When I laugh was a great series. Not shown enough on TV really. Richard Briers cut his acting teeth on that too.

I used to work with a bloke who looked so like him he had a Peter Bowles lookalike gig at the weekends.
Naturally, he was known to one and all as, 'The Bounder'.
RIP the real Bounder.

He was excellent in "The Irish RM" - a very droll series that ran from 1983 thru 1985.
Very understated humour and he played his part with his usual light touch.

Became very typecast in "To the Manor Born" roles - in fact he seemed to be the personification of the type of character he played, but an excellent actor in other roles, too.
